Magic in Marrakesh
September 6 - 11, 2026Wander | Restore | Connect
September 6-11, 2026
Step into a world of color, culture, and creativity on this immersive retreat in the heart of Marrakesh.
You know those places you see in movies and always wonder what it would be like to visit? Marrakesh is one of those places for me.
So when my dear friend Sherri Noel and I began dreaming up our first Wander | Restore | Connect retreat, we knew it had to begin there — in this city of spices and sound, of artisans and imagination, of creativity that lives in both the bold and the quiet moments.
A retreat for creative wanderers
Magic in Marrakesh isn’t a tour or a checklist. It’s a gathering — an experience — for women who love color, culture, and creativity. It’s for those who want to travel deeply, not just widely.
From September 6–11, 2026, we’ll spend six unforgettable days at the breathtaking Peacock Pavilions, a boutique oasis surrounded by olive groves just outside the city. Think carved doors, mosaic courtyards, and bedrooms wrapped in textiles that tell a thousand stories.
What you can look forward to
Our time together will blend exploration, restoration, and creative connection:
-
Wandering the Medina’s souks, filled with color, texture, and treasures.
-
Hands-on textile workshops, including Moroccan embroidery and rug weaving.
-
Optional gentle morning yoga with Sherri to begin each day with calm.
-
A traditional hammam spa experience — the ultimate in Moroccan wellness.
-
Visits to local artisans and a women’s cooperative outside the city.
-
An unforgettable desert adventure with camel rides and a Berber-style lunch.
-
Evenings gathered for dinner, laughter, and storytelling beneath the stars.
There will be time to explore, to create, to rest — and to simply let Morocco’s magic do what it does best.
Cuisine
Healthful food is part of the retreat, drawing on the in-season harvests from the local area. Daily breakfast is prepared on-site and the itinerary includes all dinner and most lunches as well, many incorporating a visit or experience in the nearby area. We’ve carefully chosen delicious and fresh meals that will give guests an expansive experience of the cuisine.
Accommodations
Located in a private olive grove outside of Marrakech, Peacock Pavilions is a unique alternative to a traditional riad. Our group will enjoy an exclusive stay and private book-out of the hotel during our week together.

FAQs
How much walking is involved?
Casual walking will be part of our outings together and suitable walking shoes are necessary.
What is a hammam?
A hammam is a traditional Moroccan spa ritual – a cleansing and rejuvenating experience that has been part of daily life and culture for centuries. Expect to be warmly welcomed into a beautiful steam-filled room, where skilled attendants guide you through a series of treatments (example): a gentle exfoliation with black olive soap, a revitalizing mud or clay body mask, followed by steam, rinse, and a soothing massage with aromatic oils.
It’s a deeply restorative ritual that leaves you feeling renewed, refreshed, and completely relaxed – body, mind, and spirit.
Can I retreat with a friend?
Come with a friend, come solo, come exactly as you are and immerse yourself in this restorative, creative experience. Please note: this is a women’s retreat. We appreciate your understanding, gentlemen.
What are rooming options?
Most rooms are double occupancy, which can be arranged as a king bed or two twin beds. We also offer single and triple room options.
Do I have to be a quilter?
You don’t have to be a quilter or an experienced sewer – this retreat is designed for creatives of all kinds. While it has a textile focus, our time together will celebrate the cultural and artistic traditions of Morocco, offering inspiration for anyone with a creative soul, a curious heart, and a love for making with meaning.
What if I’m not a yogi?
The optional yoga class will be yin-yoga in style and beginner friendly. Yin Yoga is an optional activity and a slow, restorative style of yoga that encourages relaxation, flexibility, and mindfulness. Perfect for all levels, it’s a gentle practice that nurtures both body and spirit.
Are there private bathrooms?
Yes! Each bedroom suite has a private en-suite bathroom and is equipped with a hair dryer and basic toiletries.
Your Hosts: Sherri & Tara
My dear friend Sherri Noel and I are teaming up to offer our first Wander | Restore | Connect retreat experience.
We’re two creative wanderers at heart, busy chasing color, creativity, and adventure… and we’d love for you to join us on this unforgettable Magic in Marrakesh retreat. Embrace your love of color and curiosity, come as you are, we can’t wait to meet you!
To help facilitate registrations and bring this beautifully curated retreat to life, meet Erin Lewis, founder of Eat Pray Move. Erin and I first collaborated on my inaugural Savor Stitch & Flow retreat in Italy, and with her vast experience organizing over 50 Marrakesh retreats, I’m thrilled to call her both an inspiration and a friend.
Erin has a gift for creating boutique, immersive experiences for guests, and she believes that travel naturally fosters a yogic spirit of connection – to oneself, to others, and to the present moment. This intention will infuse our week together, enhancing every meal, activity, and shared moment.
